Good rates, mostly easy sign-up

Switched our business electricity to Sumo a few months ago. The sign-up credits were automatically applied, which was great. My only minor gripe is trying to understand all the charges on my bill sometimes, but overall happy with the savings.

alright, but not perfect

anyone else find their payment options a bit limited? like, i've used sumo before for fiber to the node and it's been great, especially those sign-up credits. but this time with the fixed wireless nbn, i just wish there were more ways to pay. it all works out, just a small niggle.

Great discounts and easy sign-up for small business energy!

The sign-up credit was applied automatically to my new small business energy account, which was a nice surprise; I called about moving house and the customer service was quick and helpful, though it would be good to have an option to notify them online.

Smooth transition, good support

I moved house recently and decided to switch both my electricity and gas to Sumo. The online application for the electricity and gas bundle was user-friendly. I put in my request to connect power about a week before moving, and it was active on the day we moved in, which was a huge relief. I had one question about the solar feed-in tariff options and called their customer service; the rep was helpful and answered all my questions without keeping me on hold for too long. Bills have been easy to read so far, and the pay on time discount is a nice incentive. No complaints about the service or the connection process.

Solid, but could be clearer

I chose a residential electricity plan with Sumo. The rates seemed competitive, and the sign-up credit was a definite plus. The connection process itself was quite smooth, and I haven't had any service interruptions. My main gripe is that some of the plan details on the website could be a bit clearer upfront. It took a little digging to fully understand all the charges and discounts, but overall, it's been a positive experience. Good value for money.

Decent bundle savings

I was looking for a good deal on electricity and gas. Sumo had a solid bundle discount that caught my eye. The $100 sign-up credit was a nice bonus. The whole process of setting up the accounts was smooth online. Felt like I got decent value for my money, especially compared to some other providers I checked out. Worth it for the savings.

Consistent service again

This is my third time using Sumo, first for NBN after having electricity and gas with them for years. Their service is always reliable. Switching over my internet was just as easy as setting up my power accounts. Glad I decided to bundle another service, makes managing things simple. Always get what I pay for with them.

Easy switch, no fuss

Hey, I just switched my electricity over to Sumo last month. Honestly, it was pretty easy. Did it all online, didn't have to call anyone which is always a win for me. Haven't had any surprises on the bill yet, so that's good. Happy with how it's gone.

I'm in Perth, does Sumo even offer gas here? I know they do electricity pretty much everywhere but wasn't sure about gas in WA.

F Faith Kim 1 month ago
Nah, I don't think Sumo does gas in WA. Last I checked it was mostly on the east coast states. Better double check their site.

D Derek 1 month ago
You'd have to put in your postcode on their site to be sure, but I'm fairly certain their gas services are limited to VIC, NSW, and SA. WA is a no-go for gas through them.

What's the deal with their NBN plans? Are they any good, like speed-wise, compared to Telstra or Optus? Thinking of bundling everything with them.

B Brett Z. 1 month ago
I've got their NBN and it's pretty solid, no major dropouts. Speeds are what they advertise for my plan. Not much different than what I got with Aussie Broadband before.

C Chris 1 month ago
They offer different NBN speeds, just like the big guys. You won't notice a huge difference in actual connection quality usually, it's more about the plan speed you pick. The real benefit is the bundling discount.

Is Sumo actually Australian owned? Like, for real? Or just one of those companies that says it is but isn't.

J June M. 1 month ago
Yeah, they're legitimately Australian-owned. It's one of their main selling points.

They're definitely Australian. Started out locally and still are, which is cool.

Moving into a new place next week, how long does it actually take for them to connect electricity once I sign up? Don't want to be in the dark literally lol.

D Daisy 1 month ago
Usually pretty quick, like a couple of business days if everything is smooth. They say they aim for 1-2 days but sometimes it can be 3 depending on when you apply.

Mine was connected within 2 days after I signed up online. Just make sure you give them all the info correctly.

Are Sumo's 'market offers' generally better than their 'standing offers'? What's the difference even mean in practice?

R Rachel Q. 1 month ago
Market offers are usually where the good deals are with the discounts and stuff. Standing offers are more basic, regulated rates, no real perks. Always go for the market offer if you can.
0
C Cleo 1 month ago
Yeah, market offers are competitive with sign-up bonuses and discounts. Standing offers are just the default, regulated prices, often higher. You almost always save more with a market offer.
